Hi, I’m Sarah Beaudette

I’m a space-holder, animal lover, traveler, yogi, mother and wife. I live in Guatemala in the shadow of volcanoes. 

I graduated from Wellesley College with degrees in Sociology and English with a Creative Writing Focus, receiving the Charlotte Paul Reese Award for Creativity in Writing for my thesis collection of short stories. 

I went on to work at Amazon, first as a temp for its new Author Services team, then as its Program Manager, later as the local and then global Moderation Manager for Customer Reviews. When I resigned from Amazon to travel and spend time with my kids, I continued writing and publishing professional short stories, and contracting freelance editing projects. 

From 2017 to 2022 I joined The Spun Yarn beta reading company as its first Chief Editor, and became its Chief of Operations, focusing on quality editorial feedback for all genres of manuscript in order to take the company from a startup to a profitable small business. 

As a child, hiding out and reading was my escape from trauma into a magical fantasy world. Because overachievement earned me safety, reading and writing at a young age made me “special” and allowed me to create a safe, loving fantasy life. Writing became my passion, and along with editing, has always been part of my career. 

When we work together, I’m professional but I also know that you come from a unique background of traumas, fears, and triumphs.
